Do I need prior experience?

- Freight Agents: Experience and a book of business help, but it’s not required. We welcome motivated people new to the industry and provide full training, mentorship, and the tools to build your book from scratch.
- Dispatchers/Assistants: No prior experience needed. We’ll train you step by step, so you can grow into a high-earning role in logistics.
Do I need my own MC/authority as a Freight Agent?
No. You’ll operate under Volant 360’s brokerage authority, so you don’t need your own. We provide the compliance, back-office, and carrier network to support you.
Is this W-2 or 1099?
All roles are 1099 independent contractor positions unless stated otherwise. That means higher commission splits, flexible schedules, and unlimited earning potential.
How do commissions work?
- Freight Agents: Earn up to 70% commission on gross profit per load.
- Dispatchers: Paid via percentage of carrier payout.
- Assistants/Interns: Stipend or entry-level pay with growth potential.
What load boards or software do I get access to?
We provide access to premium tools such as DAT, Truckstop, AscendTMS, and our internal CRM. You’ll also have Slack channels and automated workflows to keep you connected.
Do I need a laptop or special equipment?
Yes, you’ll need:
- A reliable laptop or desktop computer
- Stable high-speed internet
- A headset/phone line for client calls
Everything else (CRM, load boards, training resources) we provide.
Is training provided?
Yes! We offer onboarding, ongoing mentorship, and resources to help you succeed from day one.
How often do I get paid?
Weekly settlements via direct deposit.
